This is a Renaissance style manuscript I have done in last July for the coronation* of Our Lady of solitude of Mafra in Portugal.
In the center of the renaissance style alter is a reproduction of the statue of Our Lady. She is grieving the death of her son. At the bottom I drew the Mafra Palace where the statue is being preserved. On both sides of the palace are the coats of arms of Mafra. These are all decorated with shell gold (real gold).
This piece will be printed on the cover of the missel of coronation mass to be held in 2023. 🤩
*A canonical coronation is a ceremony during which a crown is placed by the Pope or his representative on the statue of a sacred Virgin Mary.
